Our new Wine of the Month format will have wines featured at $12.98/ea. Similarly to how we always have $6.99/6pks for our Beer of the Month program, our Wine(s) of the Month will always be $12.98! Expect to come into our store and get a killer deal on carefully curated, quality wines that rotate monthly for $12.98/ea.

SO….without further adieu, the first winery we’re featuring for our new and improved Wine of the Month initiative is District 7 Wines.

Vineyard Spotlight – From the Winery:

California has 17 grape crushing districts. Monterey County is number 7. Wine experts recognize our home as one of the most beautiful and diverse wine growing regions in the world. The distinctive geography, climate and soils lead to wines that are complex, elegant and most importantly, delicious. District 7 is Monterey.

Monterey County is a good place to call home. In addition to its stunning scenery, diverse recreation and relaxed lifestyle, it offers a wide range of terroirs to grow both cold- and warm-climate grapes. Incredible properties allow us to produce a range of wines that are true to variety and site. All of our estate vineyards are officially certified by the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance(CSWA), a statewide certification program that provides third-party verification of a winery’s commitment to sustainable wine growing practices. Driving our efforts at District 7 is a core belief that the best wines come from vineyards and ecosystems that are in balance. For decades, we have been at the forefront of innovation and applied technology in our vineyards to improve wine quality while reducing water use, shrinking our carbon footprint, and advancing sustainability.

Vineyard Spotlight – From Molly’s Staff:

We are in constant search of wines that are varietally correct, balanced, delicious and still fit into our retirement plan. For the Month of August we are excited to offer you District 7 wines as our Wines of the Month. We have long been fans of the way that the Monterey Bay regulates temperatures in District 7. Morning fog, sunny afternoons and cool nights set up excellent ripeness and freshness as grapes develop in the vineyard.

District 7 Sauvignon Blanc sports a nice bright tropical nose. The palate finds excellent tension between ripe tropical fruit and citrusy freshness. The finish is clean and crisp. Textbook Monterey style.

District 7 Chardonnay is a traditional California Chard which marries oak influence to ripe orchard fruit components. The nose abounds with vanilla and baked apple pie while the palate is rich with flavors of ripe apples, pears and citrus fruit. The wine finishes clean and tempting you to take another sip.

District 7 Pinot Noir offers the balance and elegance that we look for in Pinot Noir. The aromas and flavors are a montage of red & black cherry, ripe raspberries and a zesty pomegranate component. The cooling effect of the Monterey Bay is important in keeping this wine fresh.

District 7 Cabernet Sauvignon is the bruiser of the line-up, but this big guy can still dance with finesse. Ripe black cherry fruit is intertwined with subtle oak components resulting in silky, substantive and complete offering of fruit, mocha and vanilla.
