Reds

When you think of red wine, you might instantly think of a juicy piece of steak cooked just the way you like it. There are many ways to enjoy the different varietals, and there are plenty of different foods to pair with them. Most people associate red with heaviness because of the color, but don’t allow this to discourage you. Enjoy a Sangiovese or pinot noir while on your porch or a zinfandel after work. All of these lighter-bodied options allow for easy drinking. Below are some of the other red options we carry at Molly’s Spirits:

  • Cabernet Sauvignon
  • Pinot Noir
  • Malbec
  • Merlot
  • Shiraz/Syrah
  • Sangiovese
  • Zinfandel
  • Red Blend

Whites

When most drinkers think of white wines, they may associate sweetness and shy away from it. There are plenty of complex white wines to fit any occasion, and all offer a little something different. At Molly’s Spirits, we can help you find one matching your palette. Rieslings have some of the most diverse tastes based on where it’s produced. While some enjoy the sweeter, other versions taste more like green apples. Allow our team to help guide you through the many different options to help find the perfect glass for your needs. Below are some of the choices we carry in the house:

  • Chardonnay
  • Sauvignon Blanc
  • Pinot Grigio
  • Riesling
  • Gruner
  • Moscato

Rosé

Rosé is the perfect wine for all occasions. And let’s get this out of the way now, no, it is not just white and red wine blended together. Technically, it is a red wine. The grapes used for the bottle are lightly crushed and then fermented. The longer they are in contact with their skin, the redder they become, which is why you see so many different colored Rosés on the shelves. The variety of grape used also helps determine the color and the flavor profile. Please ask us if there’s a specific taste you are looking for or dinner you are looking to pair.

Sparkling

Sparkling wine usually comes from white and Rosé wines, and Champagne only covers those sparkling wines created in the French region. There are other names as well in the same category, such as prosecco and Lambrusco. This bubbly version of wine is a wonderful way to celebrate significant achievements or at brunch with a little bit of orange juice. We offer this option in cans or bottles.

Sweet

Many of our sweet wines will be paired with another fruit to help give them more sugar when distilling. They may also add it afterward to really help boost the sweetness. We also host many different bottled sangrias. These are perfect for parties and take all of the work out of creating them on your own. They are the perfect blend of wine, real fruit, and more.

Fortified

This type of wine has had a distilled spirit added to it, such as brandy or cognac. Typically served as a dessert, fortified wine carries sweet notes brought out from the higher alcohol in the added spirits. Madeira, Marsala, port, sherry, and vermouth are all examples of fortified wines. You may even have used some cooking dishes.

Organic/Natural

While not a new take on the wine industry, it has undoubtedly become a staple in most homes and restaurants. What makes this wine so wildly popular is the process it which it is created. Winemakers have taken a more personalized approach and removed all unnatural elements of the process. They use more organic growing processes as well to keep the grapes as natural as possible. We are more than happy to provide further education on these options when you visit.

Sake

Unlike its other wine counterparts, this Japanese version is actually fermented rice grains instead of grapes. It gets brewed, but unlike beer, the process creates the conversion of starch to sugar and sugar to alcohol simultaneously instead of going through separate steps.
