|Rittenhouse Rye Whiskey||2 ounces|
|Dolin Sweet Vermouth||1 ounce|
|Angostura Bitters||3 to 5 dashes|
|Amarena Fabbri Cocktail Cherry||2|
Fill the shaker with ice then add the whiskey of your choice, vermouth and bitters, and any other ingredients you so desire. Shake that shaker (after you remembered to cover it) until your cocktail is as cold as you desire then strain it into the cocktail glass. If you’re more a traditionalist, stir the mixture in the shaker – or a glass pint – until it reaches your desired chillness. Garnish with 2 cocktail cherries (or perhaps a lemon twist if you are so inclined) and enjoy. Then repeat as necessary.
Try a .5 ounce of grand marnier to the cocktail, for a little extra sweetness and a little extra zing. Make it perfect by substituting a half-ounce of dry vermouth for a half-ounce of sweet vermouth. Garnish it with a lemon twist.
